Maintaining Health and Wellbeing in Later Life
With the mental and physical health concerns that many people face in later life, it can be difficult to maintain a sense of wellbeing and comfort. With the assistance of a domiciliary carer, you can regain the independence and mobility you may feel you’ve lost, and stay in the familiarity of your home environment for as long as possible.
A home care assistant can provide wellbeing support in many different ways. They can:
- Prepare healthy and satisfying meals for you
- Ensure that you take your medication consistently and on time
- Encourage you to maintain social connections you find rewarding
- Shop for you, or take you shopping, to ensure that your home is stocked with drinks and food
- Assist you in continuing to enjoy hobbies and pastimes you enjoy
- Vacuum, dust and tidy your home so that it is a comfortable and clean environment for you to live in
- Help you to bathe and dress, and even do your hair, nails and makeup, so that you feel confident and happy when visitors call or when you’re out
- Feed and take care of your pets so that you can keep them at home even if you’re less mobile.
Whatever level of support you require, it is possible for companions of London to find the right carer to suit your needs. All of our carers are friendly, professional and invested in providing you with the highest quality of at-home support, so you’re sure to enjoy spending time with them. Visits can be made as frequently as required, from once or twice weekly to several times a day.

Caring for Elderly Parents
Companions of London was created to help loving families take care of their elderly relatives and friends. We understand you need to provide your elderly parents with the highest levels of care, and that as much as you’d like to, you are simply unable to visit every time assistance is required. Our carers can provide as much or as little support as needed, whether you’re looking for respite care, domiciliary assistance or specialist Alzheimer’s and Dementia support.
Types of Elderly Home Care
There are several different types of elderly home care available, depending on your requirements. Our respite care service provides much-needed respite for full or part-time carers of elderly parents, relatives or friends, so that they can recharge their batteries. Domiciliary care is available for regular support, from three hours a week to several visits daily, depending on your requirements. Our specialist Alzheimer’s and Dementia carers are fully trained in providing help for vulnerable elderly people in need of support and reassurance.
